Echo Conference Coming Up!
Starting this Wednesday is the Echo Conference in Dallas. I was able to attend last year, and I’m pumped to have the opportunity to attend this year. This is a great opportunity to meet other church media folk who fight some of the same creative battles I fight on a day to day basis. There are two things that I walked away from Echo with last year that I hope to walk away with this year. The first and foremost is meeting people. It’s great to meet people that do what you do throughout the nation and get to talk with them about what new stuff they are trying out, what they have already tried, and what is working well for them in their congregation. The second thing I walked away with was encouragement. For a lot of people, Echo provides an opportunity to learn some new skills. I’m not the best or most experienced, but I did not walk away with new mind-blowing editing skills or 5 simple techniques for communication. More valuable to me, was being able to walk away encouraged. Some of things that are frustrating to me as a designer or creator in the church realm are some of the same frustrations that others have. No one has it completely figured out, no one has everything that they need – I’m not alone in this boat.
If you are attending Echo this year, be sure to look for me. I’m not hard to find, I’ll probably be one of two red heads there. I’d love to connect with you!
For those of you who don’t know anything about the Echo Conference, it’s still not too late to sign up, although the price has gone dramatically up in the last few weeks. Check out this video for a quick look at the Echo Conference.
